Today we went up to the Hunter Valley, situated about 150 kms. north of Sydney. Famous for its wine growing area it is surrounded by blue mountains, green grass, and majestic sunny skies. It was quite beautiful.
Then we drove up the road to the village of Morpeth. A former river port, the town used to be a busy port with 18 hotels, brothels, churches, convents and schools. It is now an arts community with lots of quaint shops and interesting eateries.
Tonight I had a dinner party with friends new and old who wished me well before my trip back to Canada on Monday. One of the guests brought a special guest, an Australian possum. Having been hurt in the wild, Mischief is now being raised by a family. She sat so gently in my arms
